The Tropical Mockingbird [Mimus gilvus] is similar to the Northern Mockingbird but has only white bars on the wings not the white patches and shows less white in the tail. The song is softer and more melodic without repetition of phases. The bird lives in a ranch from Veracruz, Mexico to Brazil and the Caribbean. The species is also known in Panama and Trinidad. The birds might were introduced to 1800?s by man. The Birds are known for their beautiful dance at meeting time.
