After the bushfire

We drove through the hills today and saw some of the devestation caused by the bushfires which occurred in January. In the 6 days of fire 27 homes were lost, 154 people injured and countless animals injured and died. Nearly 13,000 hectares (32,000 acres) burnt which is hard to comprehend. Thank goodness for our volunteer firefighters or more would have been lost. This was taken in Mt Crawford Forest which is a pine tree plantation. Nothing much left of the pine trees.
