third son Ryan telling us how his dad stuck his hand in the fire- I was not in the room, evidently his father (very authoriterean, did not like children) had told him not to sit too close to the fire, Ryan did, so he said- I'll teach you to disobey me. As far as I know, he just whisked his hand up to the fire-however Ryan had been a child violinist genius- his hand was important, except that his father stopped him playing and made him take up Rugby which did not last a season, the Rugby team loved him, but he had no aggression in him, so they made him their mascot- but that got boring. He was amazing on the violin from tiny- the look of rapt concentration on his face as he listened to his own music was something to behold. His paternal g'mother had been very musical.. also sent on the wrong path and committed suicide at 40!
