Adelaide Zoo has a breeding program for these very cute little quokka which are about the size of a domestic cat. They are now only found on Islands off the coast of Western Australia and are classified as vulnerable. Although looking rather like a very small kangaroo, it can climb small trees and shrubs. They have no fear of humans and will approach to be patted however it is illegal for members of the public to handle them in their native habitat.
