Kitchen Utensils - Macro Contest Winner 
My every instinct would have been to enter a black and white photo with deep shadows. So, I forced myself to think out of the box. I wanted the subject to be colorful (even over the top) and have the shadow as the subject, not the fork. It is one of these abstracts that either appeal or do not. But for me it was a bit more freeing than my normal stodgy style.

The lighting was from an overhead bulb with shadows from a side-lit flashlight.
