Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam
Traditional Artwork of the Month Contest Winner
Aside from watercolor, I also enjoy challenging myself with other mediums. I have found that Pyrography is one of my favorite alternatives to watercolor. I really like the edginess that the heat on wood technique brings to a piece especially when musicians are the subject matter. This piece of Eddie Vedder is one I really enjoyed working through. I was commissioned by a collector who lived in Seattle for many years and is a big Eddie Vedder fan. This piece has inspired me to do a series of musicians in a similar format to the one you see here.

|I used a technique for this piece called pyrograpghy which is defined as the art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point.|
