Snow-shoeing through the Maples

...A Jaunt thru the Sugarwoods

When I go snow-shoeing at my place I often follow the animal trails. Even if I don't it's almost impossible to not at least cross them in places. And, of course, I NEVER go without my camera.

On the day I took the above photo I had stopped to rest and when I turned around I could see how perfectly my path had crossed the two trails some deer had left. That's my trail at the lower right and it curves up and heads to the left mid-frame. Just above my trail at mid-right frame you can see the first deer track that crosses mine right in the middle of the photo. The second deer track can be seen at the upper left of my photo.

What I found so interesting was that these tracks were not there when I first went by this way a few hours earlier. So in the case of this photo the deer had crossed MY path rather than the other way around.
