Bed #35- Mostly Annuals
....Snake Skin Island Bed

I grow so many varieties of flowers in so many different beds that several years ago I diligently digitized every single bed. I like to be able to keep track of what's where and how well it does....or doesn't do. Took me an entire summer to draw every bed out on my computer and list every flower in every bed but it was so worth the effort.
Technically this is Bed #35 in this photo. One of the first ones I did it is so far from my house that I can't see it from my windows. Just off frame right is a large jumble of very big rocks. The first year I put this bed in I kept finding entire snake skins lying on those rocks.....snakes grow an entire new skin every season and after warming up on the island of rocks simply slither out of their old ones. So while on my computer it is listed as Bed #35 I still think of it as the 'Snake Skin Island Bed'
It changes a bit every season as it's one of only two beds where I plant annuals. The orange and yellow flowers (mid-left) are NASTURTIUMS- an edible spicy flower I have put on salads. The little blue ones in front of the rock are NIGELLA or 'Love-in-the-Mist'- an annual I originally grew just because I liked it's name.
