Opting not to be snowbirds so far this winter has allowed me to become re-familiarized with the beauty of nature in the upper Midwest. This is a frozen waterfall along a river tributary.
I waited for the golden hour so the ice was not overexposed and clipped. In summer the golden hours emphasizes the yellows and oranges (warm colors) and in winter it emphasizes the blues (cool colors).
