White-crested laughing thrushes are very active birds. They are non-migratory and spend a lot of time communicating with each other and foraging in the forest canopy, as well as on the ground. They are a very vocal species, and a group of white-crested laughing thrushes vocalizing simultaneously resembles laughing.

The birds live in extended family groups and are very inquisitive and nosy. Males and females are strongly bonded and share incubation and rearing duties, they also enlist the help of their older offspring hatched earlier in the season, to feed and defend the youngest members of the family.

I experimented with different levels of brightness with this image and preferred the low key 'romantic' light, so I opted to leave the brightness level as shot rather than changing it.
