This is a Puma at the Minnesota Zoo. They are also known as Cougars, Mountain Lions and Panthers. Pumas are speedy, slender and agile. They can run up to 43 miles per hour, jump more than 20 feet from standing, and leap up to 16 feet straight up.

They are often extremely stealthy, silent and elusive, but they can make a wide range of cat noises such as hisses, growls and purrs, but they cannot roar. They are known for their distinctive scream-like calls.
