A Firecracker Fern mingles with other plants in its native habitat.

Firecracker Fern aka Fountain Bush [Ruesselia exquisetiformis] is a weeping sub-shrub native to Mexico and Guatemala. It is worldwide cultivated as ornamental plant. It blooms year around in tropical and subtropical climate. I colder climates it can overwinter as houseplant indoors and spend the summer outdoors in flower pots and window planes. The plant grows and blooms well from sunny conditions to deep shade. It attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.
