In the myth, Narcissus was proud and disdained those who loved him including Echo. For this he was cursed by Nemesis to fall in love with his reflection eternally. Echo on the other hand was a chatterbox caused by Hera never to be able to complete a sentence i.e her voice echoed. This led to difficulties in communicating her love to Narcissus who rejects her.

In this image, the mirror on the left signifies Narcissus whilst the repeated ears in semicircles on the right signify Echo. Happy viewing all! R
