Lighthouse against a stormy sea

Candle in the Fray

CANDLE IN THE FRAY by Dieter Carlton
A poem for which the artist wrote as follows ...

Beneath a cold and angry sky
A flock of hungry seagulls fly

Above the choppy waters there
In search of what the sea would share

Their squawks no match against the roar
Of waves against the rocky shore

And high atop the rugged coast
Much like a guard at rigid post

Its beacon shining ever bright
To put the day into the night

So if the ships should sail astray
They'll see a CANDLE IN THE FRAY
