Apple Tree slowwww-ly blossoming.

Spring (sorta) in the Orchard

So far spring at my place has been cold, wet and very dreary! While some of the early spring bulbs have made an appearance many of my perennials seem to be in limbo.

Even the Apple Trees are having a hard time shaking off winter and trying to look alive. Yesterday while out in my garden beds desperately searching for some new shoots I noticed that a couple of my Apple Trees were trying just as desperately to blossom....they are typically much further along by mid-May.

But I take what I can get. The image here shows one of the 'Hula Girls' I've shown in an earlier post. It was overcast and drizzling lightly mid-morning when I took this. The Apple blossoms are not yet opened.....they are still like little puffs of cotton dotted along the lower branches but I really liked the way they looked against the green of the softwoods.
