Back in our day

Traditional Artwork of the Month Contest Entry
Back in the 70s as a school child "marbles" were the popular school playground game which I loved playing and I recall some of the names we gave the marbles such as King Curly Whirly (my favourite) Mini Dukes and King Dukes as portrayed in this image, Crystal clears and Ball Bearings which tended to chip away at all the other marbles it was put up against. This particular painting was created with use of pan pastels to sketch and then a bad layer of acrylic followed by the Gryfin Alkalyd fast drying oils ,completing this painting on a 16 x 12 " canvas board in around 6 hours ready for an exhibition of oil paintings in July entitled "Childhood Memories"....great memories they were too !
