A carpet of deep pink.

Tjär Blomster

by bpellephoto

This shot was taken on June 10th @ 6:18 am. I had been watching this filed of Tjär Blomster, (literal translation 'Pitch Flower') mature for a few days and it seemed that they had reached peak on this morning. I was most interested in the contrast the rich pink flowers made with the trees in the background and the low overcast of the sky. Also of interest was the surrounding carpet effect against the solitary rock. I have watched this carpet expand each year and I think before too long it will reach the edge of the background forest. I hope I'm here to see it. Tjär Blomster is the Swedish name for these flowers. They produce a sticky sweet smelling nectar that gives them their name. I wasn't looking to take a close up high detail shot of a few solitary blooms but wanted to portray this carpet effect. Hope you like the 'Pitch Flowers' ... B-))
