This was the first time I ever saw a Loon in the wild. I was at my brother and sister in law's cabin in Maine for the fourth of July weekend. Their cabin is located n the Passamaquoddy Bay. In all the time I've been going there I've never seen a Wild Loon.....and anywhere else for that matter.
It was pure joy seeing two loons out there and hear their haunting cry. They say timing is everything and I couldn't have imagined any timing better than this! Just when I took the shot
the loon opened his wings to take off. This is one shot I will truly treasure!

I had to move the loon and his reflection from the corner of the image to where you see it now, within the same image. I also did some cropping. Minor cloning was done to blend the loon in. I hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!
