I found this new to me tiny Hover fly a Syritta pipiens on this pink Rose bud in my cousin's garden on Saturday. Apart from it's small size it's main distinguishing feature are the bulging thighs on it's back legs. Susan

Mixed Media: Minor | each photo cropped & light dark balance adjusted the two pictures on the left of this collage were altered by putting the subject with in a sphere using Geometric Effects-Spherize in Corel Paint Shop Pro I then layered all three pictures onto a plain black base sheet to create this collage, edging each one & the base sheet with a fine edge using a colour found within the picture
