Birds - Art Contest Entry

This is a Atlantic Puffin. There are 3 species. I find these wee little ones adorable. They are truly parrots of the sea. They spend most of their life finding food by diving or just floating in the ocean. They can dive up to 200 feet to seek food. They actually use their wings as propellers. In spring and summer they form colonies to mate and raise the young. Usually they mate, breed and raise young on remote islands and rocks. Then, back to the tides of the ocean til the next year. :-)
