Carvings at Stone Mountain

A Mountain Contest Entry
This was taken on a foggy day at Stone Mountain in Georgia. The carving depicts three Confederate figures during the Civil War: Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. In today's society they are considered politically incorrect as many folks believe that Civil War was only about the right to own slaves. I won't go into a history lesson here or try to start a political tirade, but we can't rewrite history...only use it to learn from our mistakes and try not to repeat them. I do not support slavery or the suppression of any person's fundamental rights to life, liberty, and the moral pursuit of happiness and success.
