once a common view, now very difficult to find; Africa?s black rhinos are critically endangered, with a population under 5,000; In just a decade, more than 7,137 African rhinos have been lost to poaching.Will a recent decline in South African poaching mark a new dawn for rhinos? According to traditional Chinese texts, such as Li Shih-chen?s 1597 medical text ?Pen Ts? ao Kang Mu?, rhino horn has been used in Chinese medicine for more than 2000 and is used to treat fever, rheumatism, gout, and other disorders. It also states that the horn could also cure snakebites, hallucinations, typhoid, headaches, carbuncles, vomiting, food poisoning, and ?devil possession.? Nowadays, the main reason for using rhino horn is his alleged aphrodisiadic activy; all the  claims are wrong!  only  placebo effect;
