Old Barn and rustic antique vehicles

From a Distant Time

by DrCarlton

FROM A DISTANT TIME by Dieter Carlton
... a poem for which the artist wrote as follows:

With cell phone and a smart TV
A hybrid car and fast PC

I ponder how without these things
If any joy in life this brings

Indeed, not very long ago
The news we got by radio

A life without the internet
When folks would read a book, I'll bet

A time when cars were solid steel
And sounds recorded reel to reel

When matenee movies were a thrill
And play outdoors the day would fill

When folks would chat, but face to face
And life moved at a slower pace

When soda pops were just a dime
Scant echoes FROM A DISTANT TIME
