In My Shade Garden

Red Day Lilies

by nature rules

Flowers - Photography (a) Contest Entry
This is a portion of a long stretch of day lilies that I transplanted on the perimeter of a shady garden area. The dark shadow in the back is an old Oak tree. When the sun barely catches these beautiful red lilies it is a show of nature controlling the over saturation of red. There is no truer or more beautiful color of red as the surrounding darkness of shade keeps the light controlled. I have many captures of this 20 foot stretch of day lilies...mixed with bee balm. I hope you enjoy this small portion of them. Thanks for viewing. Although this stretch of flowers has been long is a pleasure to look back and find this photo in my files at this wintery time of the year. One of the varieties of red lily is called Christmas Is.
