In an age defined by the decline of traditional peoples worldwide, the Flower Hmong are survivors. Visions of color in an increasingly monotone world, the Flower Hmong cling to their traditional dress as other minority communities give in to the power of oppressive conformity. At first glance, the bustling markets of Bac Ha, Sa Pa and Can Cau recall a medieval age. Closer inspection reveals them to be thriving modern tribal institutions featuring a unique interpretation of the latest fashions and trends. With luck, the Flower Hmong and their unique culture will continue to bloom well into the future.
