This is one of the three grizzly bears at the Minnesota Zoo.
He was found as a cub in 2006 roaming porches and yards near the town of Haines, Alaska. So he was given the name Haines.

Just a few months before Haines was found, Sadie, the female member of these three bears was also found orphaned in Alaska near a landfill and was rescued by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. She and Haines spent their first two years together at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) before they were moved to the Minnesota Zoo.

Haines has been a particularly large bear since a young age, but he's said to have a calm and easy going disposition. He has gradually taken on the role of the dominant bear in the group.
