Crow Creek Mine is located about 35 miles south of Anchorage in Girdwood, it was established in 1896 and is one of Alaskas most renowned hydronic gold mining operations. It had an estimated production rate of 700 ounces of gold per month in its day. Today it is open to visitors to walk through and see the old buildings that were used as well as a lot of the old mining equipment . People still come to pan for gold in Crow Creek too. I liked this cabin on the pond .
