2 Very different species, 1 thing in common.....

Extra Leg Room

by El-mundo

Taken yesterday found on a stick in the woods near Selby, North Yorkshire, Uk, the basic concept of this dawned on me. These 2 species, Black Snake Centipedes and Land Snails, are so vastly different - the two Centipedes curled up together with 200 legs between them, the snail 0 legs. The snail weighing many times the amount of the other, and much larger, slower moving with their slimy body and antennae - The Centipedes slick & dry, thin black bodies, looking like little expensive fountain pens. Both however with their own form of defense mechanism decided over years by nature as essential, in their cases an outer protective shell.

But both sleep here, minding their own business and sharing a tiny space on a tree branch. Life can be this simple and harmonious, no strings attached. Shame on us, as a race, is how I feel right now when I read the news, and things I only thought I'd heard about in fiction and conspiracy theories becoming a potential reality.

Oh to be a Snail or Centipede eh!! ;)
