A blue-black horse creates a trail of dust as he runs and then launches into a half-rear under a starry, moonlit desert sky; the moon is not visible since it is high in the sky. I based Aureo, the golden horse, on this video frame, but didn't complete this one until now. The blue-black gradient is far harder to work with than the gold. Both horse figures are based on a photograph of my stallion, Oriental Gold, which unfortunately is not quite good enough to be worth posting. In the photo of Gold, his tail looks like it is practically tied in a knot from the motion. I tried duplicating his dramatic twist but in the end decided I did not have the time to practice copying such a difficult tail in vector format!

The stanza from the ballad by Topaz Abbott which is repeated several times with minor variations. I am the Azulejo, watch me fly, on whispering hooves across the desert plane. My eyes are blue, bluer than the sky. Listen you will hear the wind calling my name, Espiritu, spirit of this desert land!
