Fire Contest Entry
We visited one of the large whiskey distilleries in Tennessee a few years ago. The tour guide showed us how they create charcoal for filtering the whiskey as a final step in the process. I think it is oak slabs they burn as the photo shows. At some point they douse the fire and what is left is charcoal. What I vividly remember is the intense heat as we got closer. Quite the experience.
