It's a foregone fact, pollinating everything in site can work up moth size thirst. Any Moth worth its wings will tell ya that! I caught this fellow enjoying a refreshing pause for some morning dew last summer. They seem to be particular as to which species of flower they prefer. For example, they will take these tall Phlox over Daylilies. Even though there is more abundant water in the lily blossom, curious. Morning golden hour with a light overcast, it doesn't get better than this. It's like having an immense soft box in the sky. Under these conditions the illumination from all angles is even and that suppresses shadows and brings out the contrasting colors of the bouquet. Not to mention the color contrast of a thirsty Hemaris Moth... Bob
