The PixelArtisan, (Russ), is a digital artist with a strong passion for realism. His paintings often include dramatic skies and lighting and are always highly detailed. All of his digital works are created exclusively with Photoshop, using the mouse as his brush. Each painting generally requires between 60 and 200 hours to complete and are up to 96 inches wide or high. There are never any imported images, scans or other software used in his paintings. Some paintings are from cherished memories, some are his portrayal of specific locations while others are totally imaginary. For the more complex realism paintings he may use a reference photo for specific elements but never copies or duplicates the photo. All of his paintings evoke a sense of peace and serenity, often using enchanting atmospheric colors along with the intricate use of light and shadows. Russ is now moving forward to market his paintings.

Artist Notes
Sometimes I need to step back and do a landscape that only has a few elements. This is one of them. This was done a few years ago when I was feeling lonely, unfulfilled...much like a leafless tree in the middle of nowhere. But, as with every period where life becomes burdensome, there are always signs of hope, new life, new beginnings. The sunlight coming through the tree signifies that new beginning, the lush greens in the foreground announce the renewal of life.
This painting was completed using only the tools of Photoshop. I do not use any imported or scanned images, 3rd party software or reference photos. Russ
