Artist Notes
Considered as a 'Classic' in design but is more 'Gothic' in appearance. One of the finest commissioned churches of its day; Christ Church was built between 1714 and 1729 by Nicholas Hawskmoor. By 1960 it was in severe disrepair and derelict. Subsequently the whole structure was almost demolished because of an unsafe roof. Thankfully this magnificent church went under an extensive restoration project and in 2012 looks as good as ever. I have chosen only to show the steeple, because I have already a shot of the whole structure in my Portfolio.
