Judging by your notes there is quite a bit of confusion around this cactus! Despite this it is clear to me that your photo is a good one!! It's well composed, sharp with good exposure. Well done!

I generally think of this plant as prickly pear because it is the fruit that most interests me. I have never seen one bloom and the blossom is quite attractive. I like the light on this one and the fine rendering of the cactus leaves in the background.

Stunning piece Cara!
What drew me to you Five years ago was the way you use natural light so elegantly. This is a fine example of backlighting with excellent control on exposure/white balance.
The lighting is Majestic. focus sharp, details crisp and colors are ahhhmazing.
I would only suggest cloning out the white spot on the left petal.
Beautiful Work!
