This is a very lovely digital artwork done in the Sargent style of artwork. Love the thick brushstrokes and the texture in the artwork. The framing and design is also good.

Looks like the real thing!
The thick impasto strokes are almost palpable.
Effective light rendition effect.
The nose has a 3-dimensional perspective as the viewer can seem to pinch it as it protrudes from the frame.
Chiaroscuro illumination is always melodramatic.
It enhance the forlorn countenance & matched the mood of the moment.
Great job!

Madam, you really have a knack for making these oil paintings via digital art look so real and life like.
Your subject seems to be deep in thought and she is very pretty and dainty.
It is so cool that you can make these strokes just by using a computer.
Great painting, thanks for sharing.

THE eyes have a dreamy
look. The lips center the
whole face, which stands
out from the dark back round. as a whole the composition is good

Lovely digital art piece.
You have a lot of talent and enjoy the way you have it look so authentic and right for the times of these types of portraits.
It looks like a very natural and pure art piece and one to admire.
Well done!!

I love studying this work. And thank you for explaining where you began with your digital tools.
The initial impact for me are the white face and the brush strokes... You have created the Impasto style of Van Gogh...with the heavy paint strokes showing. How in the world you can do that digitally is quite impressive... Because you must do it with your colors chosen...and your light and shadows. Yes? I am mesmerized by this one! Your demure face has come together with excellent proportions and expression. The hair has light and shadows placed as does your background...to add depth to this canvas....albeit a digital one. The eyes are rather vacant..with no catch light... but a flat black. And yet they are a huge impact to the mood of this image. Makes me feel that I am looking into her soul. Amazing work! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much for your encouraging review and the golden comical eruption! :o)
I can mix my colors to the shades I want, just as in traditional art. In this case I do not know the original colors of Sargents portrait. I do not know if the colors of the book-cover I used are the same as those of Sargent. I had to use my imagination. The white of the face has more to do with Virginia Woolf and her stories in the book. The Eyes are black at the book cover. I painted them black also because I found it the black intriguing and did not want paint eyes different from the original. ~C.

This is so lovely and the dark tones set off her beautiful pale skin. Love the whole presentation of the portrait. Thank you for the interesting artist notes. There is something of mystery in her eyes. That soft beauty that gives her strength. Lovely Thank you for sharing.
