How defined this is, with the bags under eyes,
deep-set wrinkles etc. This, of course, being so big
makes a grande statement. So well done with the
shades and contrasts!!

The striped tie is a nice touch, with just the hint of the stripes of the coat underneath. Great detail. I like his expression as well. Dark eyes...kinda spooky!

Wow, what an inpressive piece! I love the eyes and mouth, can almost see a bit of a twitch and tremble in them. Yopur attention to detail is top notch, and I hope you have more to share.

What an austere expression you captured with this workings of oil on canvas. Your quite adept touches of subtle light to form your proportionment of the details in his features is awesome. I think I'm really drawn to the affect of the canvass lending texture and a velvet smooth refinement to the overall composition. The lines of the suit that blend with the tie into the backdrop gives this a stronger sense of mood and tone. This is a great study to reflect upon and admire for its technique.

very well done, full of character, and foreboding. Whatever the story content, it should draw one to investigate. Fine detain, and wonderful line work. A great deal of emotion is expressed here.

This is amazingly well done, I just love the character in the mans face, the frown lines aparant and everything. I really love the style you used with such a close up. Excellent work :)

Rhiannon, congratulations on this obviously superior portrait. Of what I have seen on the site, this is in a class by itself. The detail, depth and texture you nave achieved is absolutely magnificent. Any word used to describe this should be positive and be a superlative. It is truly awesome. Although a relatively minor thing when compared with how wonderfully you have rendered this man's face, I do want to add that I'm also impressed by his shirt.
Peace, Papa

What a beautifully scary looking old man. You have caught every wrinkle in his aged face. He looks like he has had a rough life or could be a withered, old, miserly businessman. I see a Scrooge. Excellent work.
