Very, very Excellent in color management and you always pull it off in light and shadow. As always you are very beautiful and your art brings also inner beauty to surface. Especially like the way you painted your wind blown hair. Gives fantastic movement to your image. Good Luck and thanks so much for sharing,
bunkie (Dave)

i think your painting is truely beautiful. The beautiful women and her eyes tell a story all on its own, adding the differents shades of blue and white gives your painting a textured look, which i think adds plenty of character to the image and about the artist themselves. That;s just what I think. But hey I see you live in Alberta too, Where? I live 2.5 hours from edmonton. Excellent Painting once again, and I forgot to mention the detail that you've added to this woman just by her eyes and the way you've shaped her face is awesome.

I find this work very dramatic and interesting. It tells a story of mystery. I want to know more. There is an excellent technique of art here, even though I suspect copied from a photograph. It has interesting textures. AussieArt

Thank you. This is NOT a copy from a photograph. This is a 100% my creation using a photograph of me. Why do dou suspect? Yasue.

Well, as you say using reference of o photograph of yourself. We all use photographs from time to time for reference to our creations. No big deal.

I see a lady who is going on a journey, but she is not sure of her travels and being gone from the place she loves! She glances back one more time just in case, to keep those memories alive and to offer hope that all goes well abroad! This one looks a little like you my friend, as always your artwork is not only creative, it reaches to our very souls as we put ourselves in her shoes. Very expressive and shows true emotion. We all at some time or another have left on a journey and as we leave we seemingly look back and wonder, "will I ever return"? This is what I see and feel when viewing this art piece! The artwork is very colorful and as I said, very expressive, and one can easily put themselves in this situation. Nice work my friend, take care Yasue!

Yes, this is me. Whole thing is from my imagination, but for her face, I used my portrait photo as a reference. Just try to imagine how I feel to departure in this world. I always feel so strange that I will be disappearing from this earth, as much as my father or other people I knew did. Their hearts must be filled with such nostalgia to the land and life which never to return. Thank you very much for your great review. Yasue.

The eyes are well done, go focus. The color choices seem cold to me. She seems frozen in a block of ice. She needs someone to breathe a little warmth and life back into her. Warmer colors will do the trick.

Even if color appears to be cold FOR YOU, it is so with purpose. This is called an interpretation of art. Thank you for your time. Yasue.

It is well documented that blues are cool colors. I think that you would do well not to take reviews personally. Your offended reactions create an atmosphere of false reviews to satisfy you.

reply by the artist on 15-Mar-2008
Not at all! You said your opinion, and I said mine based on my philosophy on this specific painting; I just believe that the art is nothing but a presentation of the theme ? theme dictated the mode and hence color and flow. You do whatever you believe right, but I think I have right of voicing my intension as well.

This is really nice work. I love how her hair is flowing as if it's lost in the moonlight. I like the rich blue and the whites, it appears like a sky of dazzling stars.
