A really lovely gentle and romantic portrait showing her eyes indicating a wistful desire for other things...I have given 5 because it really is beautiful BUT I think that the composition which shows too much of the floorboards in the lower part of the frame is just too much and is rather distracting...Cheers Rob

    Hey, Rob,
Thank you for your honest critique. The hardwood floors are a bit distracting. Yes I will give you that. Passion, that is what it is all about. Dark, Brooding shadows, depth, hardness: then the light and softness of a young woman's flesh. The innocense of her eyes, looking deep within the viewers soul. I go for the deepest places I can possibly go. God bless you and thank you,
    Linda

Linda, excellent drawing. Your choice of composition is interesting is bold, unusual and interesting. Achieving believable wood texture is always a challenge, you have done them well. I like the dramatic contrast of this...high key on the woman and crisp dark shadowing. There are just enough subtle tones in the woman to show form and shape without infringing on the dynamics of the contrast. Your understanding of the human form is evident. Russ

A beautiful drawing. Your tones were perfect, the brown colour was excellent. I felt there was a little too much decking below her, causing a bit much spacial area. The way you have her posed really does make her look like she is in imagination. Perhaps through your great imagination. Well done!

    Dear Kiwi,
Thank you for your review. I am glad that you took the time to actually express to me the flaws that hinder this piece. It is fun, isn't it? To share with fellow artist the passion that we share in what we do. Your opinion means a great deal to me and I am glad that you enjoyed reviewing my work.

This is a VERY FINE drawing, I suppose, or whatever medium it is. Superbly done. The shading, values, features, masterfully executed. She is very emotional and at one with her passion and her senses. SHE IS WOMAN. I like your work on the hardwood floor which is a high contrast in value, hardness, and texture, with the soft beauty of the maiden. Her hair piece is cool and interesting, adding fine detail. The pose is very nice, the expression, priceless. Excellent work!

    Dear Mike,
Your review is stellar, adding a great finish to work that was tedious and hard. How wonderful to have a picture that is valued. Such blood, sweat and tears we all pour into our work. But the satisfaction of a job well done is a reward in itself. God bless you for your kindness,

This is a beautiful pencil drawing. Your technique is wonderful to capture the softness and glamour in this scene. The ornaments in her hair contribute to the romance of this scene.
