I like the classical mood of this shot. The blistering paint and warped reflections in the glass are views from the "good old days." There's a static quality to this otherwise dynamic shot. It needs a pie cooling in the window, or grams dumping out the wash water. That would make it sizzle, I think.

Interesting shot with a great storyline. A tighter crop would be more appealing to me...also a straighter angle to keep the lines even, but very interesting image.

Thank you very much Blue!!! Just can't keep straight lines taken at an angle, certainly don't want my reflection showin' up----OUCH!!

Deb you have done it again, you gave a simple subject an in-depth story with a thought provoking image with just the title, well done. Shooting glass is hard without getting the reflection of yourself. (not that you aren't a hottie model) but you did that with the angle you took it at and it works well. I am also wondering how this would look in B & W. I love old buildings they have so much more character. Great job Low.

LOL!! You so funny Sass, me, 'hottie model', kickin' the 'T' and heelin' the 'A' with every step!!!!!! Seriously, thank you so much, yep, I am gonna try b&w with this and some other 'old crap' after the holidays. You just too sweet and funny!!

Debbie, the brown of roof on right needs to be balanced or cropped :) Very distracting. However, the reflection on the "panes" brings life to the "panes" of present which evokes the "pains" of lost. I am [ass]uming the buckshot is is for tresp[ass]ing? :)

Thank you gaj!!! Taken from an angle makes it look a bit out of perspective. You assume well!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!

I sense a little bit of voyeourism int his photograph hey. Nicely done you can sense the stories behind these windows. If they could talk.

One wonders what the residence of this fine establishment were like. What did they see through the glass. The peeling paint probably knows but is not saying. Excellent job

It's a unique shot. I find myself waiting for little guys or a little duck to walk across the windo pane behind the window back and forth for me to shoot it. like at a carnival. that was the first thing that came to my mind. although looking at it for a little longer, and i get the sense that an older woman lived here and is lonely and needing company. The neglect of the outside of the house and the windows may (to me) reflect the woman, she needs a makeover. And now, even looking at it longer, i find i do like this shot. my original rating was gonna be 3, but now i pick 4, good job.

Thank you Drea!!! Just an old abandoned home with character.

Is this an abandoned house? I think if the window was shot straight on it would feel more balanced. reflection is always a problem so a polarizer might reduce that. If that house is empty, I would jump at the chance to go inside and explore with the camera. I like the details of the peeling paint.

Thank you very much John!!!!!!! Can't shoot straight on and keep 'me' out of the windows, used a polarizer filter---Yep abandoned house, would have loved to go inside!!!!!!!

Nice clarity on this photo. I think it would look great in black and white. It would give it a timeless feel with the paint chipping off the framing.
