Spyder27, while your exposure here is good, the image is not as crisp as it might be and the composition is poor, with the subject occupying so little space. There is nothing imaginative or creative or interesting in this photograph.
Peace, Papa

When shooting water long exposure time's are essential in making a good photo excellent. This is a nice try, but it looks like you where focused all the way out and this made the picture kind of shakey. Sharpen it up a little I think it will look a lot better. Thanks!

Thank you for your comments. I had no kind of support when I took this shot. Since I have been using a small tripod. Too much blue sky as well. I'm still going at though. Thanks again!!!

spyder27, Nice shot. The water was frozen perfectly. But, there is a lot of dead space that could have been croped. also the main subject is not centerd in this picture. Just my opinion. keep shootin

Thanks for your comments. Still working at composition and framing. I have a little more support for the camera now which hsa helped with more recent photos.

Nice picture. Would have been better if it hadn't been altered. The background shows some sort of enhancement or doctoring. The angel is clearly visible though.

Thank You for your comments!!! I did not alter this picture except to meet the size requirement for this website. When you resize a photo from 22272 x 1704 to 600 x 500 you loose a lot. I do agree that it does look altered, but I assure that it has not.

You have captured a great shot of the water in motion . . but there is too much wasted space. I would have cropped this photo in a way to have the viewer focus on the water. . and not the expansive blue background.

I Like the freeze frame of the water. I can see the face of a woman. She has her hands crossed or is holding something. Excellent work. Hope to see more of your work in the future.

The focus is a bit too soft here. I think squares seen in the colour separations of the blue sky beyond has more to do with the kilobyte size reduction required to upload to this site. If we were allowed a 100k limit, I think a lot more images would be affect adversely. Maybe they'll raise it if enough folks bring it up? A good way to get rid of these septation artifacts and a way to further improve the ascetics of this particular image would be to crop this as a panoramic. Crop your image to include everything for about an inch and a bit on either side of the fountain. That way not only would you be getting rid of excess dead sky, when you save the image to the 50kb limit, it will be a smaller image space that needs to be recorded in that 50k, allowing you to retain more colour info and details. If you feel up for the challenge, you might also consider spot editing that partial little point of the statue popping out of the bottom. It contains little detail or hint as to what it might be. your call. Cheers!

Thank You for your comment. The tips and feedback are very insightful and I will give it a shot. I am trying to learn all that I can about photography. I am still new to it and trying to get used to the camera and the editing software. I decided to put my photos on a sight like this in order to get advice and more info. Thank You again for taking the time to write your remarks.

Excellent technical shot of the statue, but the background just lacks that last degree of clarity and detail

Consider trying to smudge the boundaries between the various shades of blue. And trying to crop in a little more on the statue - some of that blue is probably wasted.

The photo made me stop, and look at it critically, with the freeze frame shutter timings on the spurting water.

I like the splashes of water coming off and stopped in mid-air. The blue of the sky is great. The framing of the shot could use a little work. Keep shooting!

What a cool picture. I do see a figure in the water, not sure that it is an angel as much as a woman holding a child with one arm holding him and the other at her side and both of them looking to the left. hmmm, like looking for shapes in the clouds. it's fun.
