I wish I could give you more stars. This is so powerful it gave me chills. Given the political world climate, the anger and rage I feel at what happened at the prison in Iraq, and how people are being held in concentration camps in Isreal with America's blessing, and how awful I feel for the families of American soldiers and civilians who are putting there lives in jeopardy, some of who are at this moment hostages of lunatics, it just makes me wish everbody would learn we cannot continue to imprison eachother politically, religiously, or physically. In doing so, we are all degrading the very ideals we espouse. This image moved me.

Very interesting work here. It is visually pleasing and raises questions in the mind of the viewer. It was a nice touch to weave one of the arms through the wire.

Wow! That's quite a contrasting critique from the 2 star comment I got from floridaboy, just before your post. Thank you very much.

What are you trying to do? This Photo makes no sense. I know, you are trying to comment on the human struggle for freedom, but this doesn't do it. The photo looks staged, contrived, awkward. There is no color, no contrast, no feeling to it. It doesn't portray freedom, it portrays bondage. Try again.

I am sorry you feel so strongly against this image, the image is staged, I posed for it myself, there is no colour as I took it in Black and White mode, and I'm not sure where you are coming from with the Bondage thing??? I do however thank you for expressing your feelings again on another of my works. Can't please everyone, thought I've pleased enough with this image to Win the Black and White photo of the month at digitalphotocontest.com .
Like I mentioned on the last image you commented on, which you also didn't "Get", there is a wide variety of artists with a variety of levels of experience on this site, and each has their own level of understanding on technical and ascetic aspects. I've taken the opportunity to have a look at the two works you've posted and can't wait to critique them on technical merit and meaningfulness. Keep up the good work, and thank you again for your critique as well as your emotionally charged feelings. :)

It's a beautiful (strange adjective for this work :)), very professional photo.
Very expressional and carries a strong impact on the beholder.

Cheers :)

Thanks a bunch for your critique. Have a look at the 2 star one I got from floridaboy, a totally opposite of anything I've seen so far. :)

very nice picture. you can even see the hair on the arms. i think i would have liked it better with both hands closed, but thats just my choice. good job.

Sysop, I really admire your work. My photos have always been more towards the scenic and making sure they are technically right. You give some good ideas with what you do. Your focus is great and the contrast and brightness are just right. Putting it in black & white really brings out the feeling in the image. Very well done!

What a powerful image!. I would have liked to see a different contrast so that the wire was visible across the palms and that the arms are actually intwined
