Its a nice photograph Cleo, But you have cloned his mustaches lol, one side is bigger and look at the left one lol. I like your composition and this gracefull cat. But you have mixed up his body with the background which looks very un-natural. All the best for the contest.

    Thank you.
Yes I know about the mustache. I blow it away but I didn't see it. Sometimes my eyes just give up [I have to blow up the whole picture to see right but I didn't. My false] I'm working on it but it is complicated and time consuming. I have to paint the whiskers in, all I did so far did look unnatural. I don't have a brush small enough. So I am cloning the opposite shorter but this is time consuming. [I can't work long time on it my eyes give up]
I have to admit that I blow the the outline of his body in purpose. I had cut him out in order to blow the background, but it looked to crass to me. He stud out to much. So I decided to melt him back into the background. I think an idea what didn't work out.

Beautiful photograph. Well framed/cropped. Great storyline. Excellent detail. Excellent depth. Good color saturation. Good idea to have removed the background. This cat is gorgeous.

very nice close up shot of the cat. I like the details on his or her coat and you can tell the cat is street wise :) anyway thanks for sharing

This is excellent shot and is full of emotion and character it looks like a rather mean expression and someone burnt his whiskers. Cropped really well only thing I am not to keen on is the slight over blurring which encroaches the cats naturally well focused fur. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

Thank you so much, I appreciate your kind and generous review and your wishes.
Shiloh pointed the over blow on the cat also. I think a may overdid it. I had the feeling the cat was to much distinct from the background so I tried to merge it back in.

I really like this shot, when I first saw it I thought it was a BIG cat, Everything is so detailed , the eyes are fantastic. Blending out the background to calm the noise was a great choice. I like the textures in his coat.. Well done, thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I appreciate your generous review very much.
You aren't allone. Other were thinking of Bob Cat and Lynx. It is a small cat tall indeed for a pet. 10-12" I think but very thin.

A nice shot Cleo, the composition is good and the lighting was handled well. The focus is good and the shallow DOF for the background worked well for this presentation. Nice job!!

Yes he does look like he is telling you DO What and I think maybe he might have been serious too. He has that rugged look of being on his own and probably doing quite well at it. The colors of his coat is quite unique and his different colors in his eyes show he may have or has had a problem or 2 with his health. Nice shot but a different background would have been easier to look at Bingo!

Thank you Bingo, I appreciate your throuought and generous review very much. I agree with the background but blowing was the best I could do. The original was enormously distracting. As I wrote in my notes: The cat didn't cooperate.

Nice capture! I find the image is good just that the focus is a little soft. I like how you adjusted an over active(busy) back ground. Nice touch.

I agree: the focus is soft. I shoot without readjusting the camera setting to catch "the look" of this unusual cat. The timing wasn't right. I was to far away but I was hoping it wouldn't hurt the picture to much.

WOW! Look at that look!
Cats are some of the greatest subjects to shoot. They ALWAYS look like they're doing you a favor!
Nice job.
