What a prize-winning shot to honor Buddy.

Love everything about this - he almost looks as if he's standing guard in much the same mood as a loyal soldier.

So expressive with the eyes - the slightly uplifted chin, that straight posture and attentive look.

Every whisker looks as if it belongs and is there for a purpose.

Even the background is perfect for his attitude.

An outstanding character portrayal that is so exceptional - and especially exciting and yet sad - to read your artist notes is a tear jerker.

Thank you so much for your uplifting and heartwarming review.
I had to do something for this little hero.
Yes we were all sadded by this story. I didn't wrote all of it. I was thinking it would be to much and unbelievable. These dogs were trained to attack as "protection" of the owners property. But the came free at times and terrorised the area for several weeks. For all I know two people and five other dogs including Lucky were injured before they finally were taken away.

That is sad. And the story is sad. But what a beautiful picture you got to immortalize Lucky.

    Lucky survived!
Hi outsmarted these dogs and he is much faster. His injury wasn't to bad [A bite in the hint leg] but he was in shock for a wile and wouldn't go near another dog.

So glad to hear that - my heart can start beating for Lucky again. What a beautiful dog.

Aww this dog is too cute, i am sure everyone would be missing him, he surely is a hero for the act he has done. I like how you have cropped him tightly, shows his character. Nice details and the sharpness with good depth of field. All the best for the contest :) Nice suitable entry.

Oh, you gave me goose bumps with your story of Buddy's heroism. This is why I love dogs so much, they are incredibly loyal and loving. I am so sorry that Buddy had to give his life for his owner, he was a beautiful dog and you have caught well in this shot. I can see the sparkle of fun in his eye. His owner must cherish this photo!
