Fine texture to this image. A wild looking piece with emerging details present from the awesome coloration and great initial impact.

Great initial interest because of the color nuances. Lights reflect on details very well and give more than what you orginally expected.

This ranks right up there with your very best, cleo.

This is such an imaginative and accomplished piece of work.

Very effective with the faucet and that lovely bubbling water.

The clock is a perfect metaphor.

The sunset is also time revealing and time telling.

Every effect is combined for the total mood and feeling that is so perfect. Yes we know - but I'm not sure we care. Well, perhaps we do. Or at lest we give lip-service to caring. But I'm not sure we care enough to really do something about it. Someday we will have to care enough if we want to survive. But I'm sure that will be many lifetimes past us.

For now we can only hope to influence people enough for them to care - but I don't have much faith in that. Time will tell.

But your photo is lovely - most appropriate to our living today and the quality of our living in the future.

Again - one of best!

You are right what we can do at the moment is making aware and not only about the water. It doesn't seam much but I hope it count. If my picture make 10 people replacing a dripping faucet our not to throw garbage in the ocean, it adds up with the other little things others do. [I hope.]
I don't know about the many generations. I'm affraid it is not so many. Maybe I see it more dark coming from Europe and living in Mexico. When I was a kid Germany was scared by war but there were forests. There were mushrooms and berries in these forest. There were rivers and lakes to swim in. In the rivers and lakes were fish. When I left Germany most forests were damaged, some dying from acid rain. Avalanches came down the mountains taking the last trees from the mountain tops and the villages below with them. [The trees what were holding the dirt before were gone than to build these big sky resorts]. In the remaining forests were signs: "Do NOT eat berries or mushrooms from this area. This area is contaminated". Similar sign's on lakes and rivers: "Do Not swim.... ". There were no fish in the waters anymore. [The cold war didn't help because each site said: It isn't us. It comes from the other side of the curtain] I understand some of the contaminated waters and areas were cleaned in the main time, especially in Great Britten. But many remain and got worse especially in East and South Europe. What I see happen over the last 10 years at the Yucatan is the Europa of my childhood allover again. It just goes much faster.
So I keep trying even if making aware is all we could do at this point.

Sad, sad, sad! What a terrible and appaling story. To think of all the destruction - the landslides, the poisons and polluting. I can so readily see and feel the terror you must have felt at such devestation and now that you're seeing it all over again - it must be a revulsion and such a sickening feeling. I so often wonder if we are ever going to learn. I would love to see such loathsome wasting become an eye-opening revolution for this new administration and young people. I'ts about the only hope we have when considdering the bent-on-destruction path we have been on and are on yet. I'm so glad you feel so strongly and have the time and patience to invest a little time in the effort of doing something. Perhaps if we all did that we could see some improvement - if we have enough time left in our lifetimes. This work you've produced is so beautiful and would make a lovely image for a new organaziation to adopt as a visual image to start being more aware - and actually start taking action.

Thank you so much. But I think the awareness is starting. At least it is acknowledged now that there are problem.
But I know also it is not easy for people who live with beautiful forests all around and have only to open a faucet to have water to drink to understand that they are just lucky. Even so hart to understand the situation for people who live in poverty. Who cares about tomorrow when there is nothing to eat for the children today?
To post this collage was just a try because I'm not sure if FAR is the right place for this kind of art. What do you think?
I know we can make a difference. I got a honorable mention in an international competition prior to the World Conservation Congress in Barcelona last year. So some of my work were shown there and is used by WWF now.
reply by ZenTrip on 21-Jan-2009
Definitely. I think the awareness is starting also. You really said a mouthfull when you talked about people living in poverty - how can they really cares or conceive about next week or tomorrow or next year when living today is such a struggle. So many people who find it hard to see tomorrow because of the hardships of todays living.
No, I don't think FAR is the right place for showing such work. Nothing wrong with doing it of course. But I'm not sure the interest or appreciation is there. Maybe a half a dozen or so - so . . . maybe it's worth it. I dunno. But I find it exciting to hear about your work being recognized in Barcelona. And in getting an honorable mention. Have you ever posted that on the site. Would love to see it. I think that is worthy of noting and I'd be proud of it. I love to think that artists can make a difference. We're not all arty fluff and show. We can do some serious work and do some worthy promoting. I'm so happy to know about the event. I feel good about knowing you did that. That's how we can make a difference and it is worth all our efforts!

Thanks for your Re. It tells me a lot. That you are so unsure as I what work would be appreciated on FAR tells me I need to try that out.
I am already surprised by the response to the picture.
The picture is one of the pictures I had posted for Barcelona. I will post more of them.
[Do you know Spain is under a cold spell? The have snow after 20 years without in Barcelona].
reply by ZenTrip on 23-Jan-2009
One of your best, cleo in my estimation. And I'm so glad it has had such a favorable response from members. That's encouraging.

No, hadn't heard about the first snow in Spain in over twenty years.

Did have a note from Catarina that they had the first snow and freezing temperatures in sixteen years - humph! Forgotten from where she is from - maybe Portugal.

Looking forward to more of your shots.
reply by the author on 23-Jan-2009
    Thanks.
Yes I think it's Portugal from were Catharina is from. She had posted some pretty good pictures with ice on the plants. Did you see them?
reply by ZenTrip on 23-Jan-2009
Yes - one of the photos with plants iced over I had reviewed. That's when she sent a note saying it had been so long since they had experienced the snow and cold weather.
reply by the author on 23-Jan-2009
She has two more. But I think you saw the best one.

Your art work go beyond appearance and convention engage viewer in a silent journey through a clear and balanced composition where colors, light and shadow and good proportion make something that is pleasing to the eye.
As a suggestion which hope to not upset: Tray to use the "extract" ability from PHS, if you use this software because in process of collage can get unexpected effects; the "extract" let you to use only the elements that are implicate in artwork.

Thank you for your throuought and helpful review. Unfortunately I don't own photoshop [I live in the Yucatan, Mexico] but I just got a program called Designer Pro what should do have a similar feature but I have to put it on the computer first and than learn to use it. I'm currently using Picture it 2001, Digital Image 2006 and Paint Shop X2.
    Thanks for the tip anyway.
