The character caught here is amazing. You can see the years written in his face and can tell there are probably many stories to be told.

Very good work. I am really impressed and inspired. I like the way the flow of the beard is portrayed here. And the sharply focused image.
What I did not like is the light. The sun(or have you used a top mounted flash) which casts a white patch on the forehead and makes the picture seem a little over-exposed?
A little bit of levels adjustment and curves feature in photoshop might do wonders for the tones in the image. Otherwise a good photo.
Say Hi to Willy.

Thank you very much for your great review eyes!! No flash used, I have to actually print my work out before I post because I don't trust my LCD monitor 100%, does not appear over exposed to me, but may very well show over exposure on your monitor as all monitors are so different in quality and calibrated differently, sometimes kind of like playing cat and mouse, that is why I print first, but actually that only helps me--I will certainly tell Willy Hi for you, he always ask about FAR and people here, never forgets a name or their prefered subject to shoot! Thank you again!!

Ok. Thanks for the reply. I have noticed that sunlight often creates this kind of a bright patch. Always wonder what to do about it though. A very nice character protrait. I will definitely take a look at it again once I reset the monitor. (LOL)

A beautiful portrait of Willy, a lot many is told to describe this apparently poor but honest character. Thank you for this touchy description and nice photograph. Technically lighting is too heavy and the sun light falls directly on his front face. This has washed out the minute details of his face. The situation would have been quite different had sunlight fallen on his face from one side keeping the other side dark under shadow. The captured mood is excellent.

What a wonderful story! I knew there was something about you that was special...no really. How kind you are to spend time with this man. I have spent a good portion of my life with the elderly, I love them, they have so much to share if people would only take the time to really listen. I know you brighten his day. Love this pic, loved it before both b/w and color. Thanks for sharing his story....enjoyed it very much

Willy does have a lot of character in his face. His story is one that surrounds many who may be homeless or are considered worthless at a glance. I see he is wearing an army jacket. I bet that's another good story.

I haven't found out about the jacket yet, I just let him lead the conversations, however, I have never seen him without the jacket on even in the heat of summer. Thank you Shrews for your great review!!

Good work.
Like the moment you captured.
Is he trying to say something here?
And what is doing his fist in front :-)

Thanks for sharing

No, not trying to say anything, just trying to open his eyes a little more, his arm is in a sling, has been for about 2 years, just doesn't move easily for him. Thank you for your review ikalik!!
