Very nice portrait, Debbie.
I like the looks of this guy. You've captured some wonderful detail in the lines on his face and in his long hair and beard. I love how his fisted hand is on his chest. It all makes an excellent composition!

This works really well in black and white. It gives a better impression of age, maybe even try a sepia version. Bet he can tell a few stories.

Thank you so much Trek!! Yep, I want to do a sepia for my office, don't want to 'Willy' fanart into the ground!

Well done LowRider. I admire your photography as well as your caring spirit. What a story Willie must have, not only of his own exploits but of the life and times that he lived in. All of the scoring catagories get a five on this one. And what better way to show it than B&W!

Ok, I saved this to review last today, because it just held me spellbound. First, great portrait shot with all the right technicals; but mainly, you have captured so much more than an image. I can almost hear hundreds of stories relayed in the lines on his face; his character and charm certainly come across in this image. The only thing I could see that would make it even better is if there was a hog sitting by the side of the road behind him! Great shot that really conveys not only emotion, but a sense of past.

What a wonderful review write up Blue! I thank you very much for this especially since I have gotten to know Willy a little better and finding my instincts about him were totally dead on.

This is very good shot. I think the picture shows that he has had a rough life and the beard blowing in the wind is a nice touch. I think there could be a little more contrast

Making this B&W definitely didn't make it any less of a picture, but I think I preferred the color one, maybe just because it is the one I am used to. I do think there are some adjustments that need to be done to make this a very good B&W shot, but, honestly, I can't tell you what they are, because I don't know how to do it. This is something I am still working on. I have a few shots I shot in color and want to convert, and I am studying how to do it to get the best contrast results. When I learn, I will share them, if you share what you've learned with me ;-)

Thank you very much shiv!! Yep, I prefer the color also. I can't really tell you what all I did--I have been working on this ever since I took the color photo after reading the reviews. My new scanner made a ton of differenct with the initial conversion, but was still to dark, so I just kept jacking with it in photoshop adjusting the tones, highlights etc. I ended up darkening the highlights because his beard always came out overexposed. I finally just said -- here goes, posted it and held my breath---I think I mainly focused on the most intricate areas at the last, figured if I could get those semi right maybe the rest would just come together. Thank you again David!!

I just love Ol' willy... the first "color" version was memorable and I also like it in black and white. this is just a winner and perhaps my favorite post by you to date.

I like this photo in black and white. I certainly think this "dates" willy. The way you have Willy framed is very good. Good work. It is a shame that he won't open his eyes wider.

Great portrait photo of Willy, yes it does look better in B&W. Detail of facial features for some reason show off better in black and white. It shows more distinguished feature os his face and the the hard life. Great focus and composition.

I like this in black and white, as it seems to be more detailed, the shadows and such....the clarity is amazing, as well as the angle of this taken and the depth of field...nice work on this lowrider!!
