I'm new to reviewing character photos like this one (I'm a little jittery myself in asking people) ... I have viewed it a few times, trying to figure out what I like/what I don't like. He indeed appears to be involved in the shot, not candid; I think it would have been nice to see more of his eyes. The lighting is good, good focus, and a bland background definitely sets off his lines. I think a different setting, though, might have communicated "more" of him -- such as doing something in his "natural surroundings". But overall a nice shot!!

Don't be jittery, just have fun!! As explained in my notes, he rarely opens his eye more than this, and this is his 'natural surrounding' sitting by the dumpster. Thank you very much for your review cyrano, most appreciated!! Welcome to FAR!!

Very good, very nice soft contrast, very good composition, and the subject it's just great, seems to me that you really enjoy what you do, and that's very important when you want to achieve the best of you can do, and even more.

A priceless story and the emotions run high here and can connect with
experiences such as this on a personal level---to many they are un-noticed
to a few the Willy's of the world become personal----there is the double edged
sword that comes a joy and sadness in a way----he is in the good hands of
the LowRider---happy 'bout that----I know you will bring a spark into his life
that so so many deserve !!!!!!!

What a deep and penetrating story this photo has captured. I didn't see it in color, but the black and white really show intense drama. His warmth comes across to me. You captured the inner beauty of this man. Way to go!

Debbie....Willy will always be Willy in Black and white or colour. It's not the outer appearance, but the character, heart, and soul of Willy which you captured so beautifully. Give my regards to Willy.

I am sure everyone has told you all I was about to say. I can always say its perfect picture and the story behind it is amazing. Where in Colorado are you? We are from Alamosa (near the sand dunes).
Keep it up girl.

What a face! Very well done. You have captured the character and charm
of this old man.How many tales can he tell. I think the contrast could be bumped to get rid of the brightness and give you more shadow. Great work. AZ
