I love this. The character just pops out of this photo. Many people may feel sorry for Willy but not me. He looks like he has no regrets and is doing what needs to be done with little muss and fuss. I am sure he loves having you as his friend, somebody to spend time with who won't judge him. I am sure he is a treasure to you, and the other people who have judged him are missing out!! Great photo, great story.

Thank you for such a wonderful review click!! Yes, Willy is a treasure to me, he doesn't let life worry him much and has certainly taught me a lot from his actions and words.

Great photo. Nicely composed and focused, but more importantly, you really captured this man's character. I think shooting in black & white was a good choice.

Thank you so much Lowrider, for letting me take a peek at Willie's world. You certainly have captured spirit and history here. They say a picture should tell a story. Well you have 100 stories here. Your composition is perfect. The background, the lighting, the focus, really wonderful portrait. Appreciate the view.

I didn't see the color version - but I really like the B&W. It enhances the earthiness of the character that "Willy" is. It helps you really see the years of riding in his weathered face and hand. The rough nature of his past in the shadows of his broken nose - probably more than once. Not sure if I would see this one in a magazine - but I think it is pretty gritty - a chronicle of an entire subculture.

Absolutely wonderful story Low, sniff sniff almost had me in tears girl
I think your connection with Willy definitely comes from an older time. Sometimes I believe in past lives, maybe that is how you felt so compelled to get to know Old Willy.
And he's an ex Hells Angel....I wanna here some of those stories, you will have to write a book.
This picture is just beautiful. I love Willys face that gorgeous beard. You did a great job shooting this one. It is a wonderful portrait.
Kat :-)
PS This beats the crap out of flowers...you tell them ole women. Kat said so.LOL

This is extraordinary! What a wonderful capture of this man. His eyes are so expressive and you've composed it perfectly to capture and display this. This is truly phenomenol work! Love how you've chosen black and white...it suits him well.

Love this portrait, Low ! I remember gajnath doing a painting of this guy a while back, I think ! Sounds like you and I are alike and make friends with people who other people ignore for whatever reason. They don't know what they are missing.....it seems a crazy world to me where someone is shunned because they are different and they often turn out to be far more interesting than " regular " people lol !
That said, you really don't need me to tell you that this is great photography...you must know that in your heart !
Thanks so much for posting !
