Maybe I am too used to farmland, being from the state with more agriculture than any other (California), but this does not look at all desolate to me. Although the trees have shed for the winter, this looks like a beautiful and pleasant day on a fertile land. The subject is well lit and in sharp focus. There is a great sense of DOF with this field and the hills. It does appear tilted to the left though (look at the line of the roof of the barn and the tree on the left). Beautiful shot.

Just sneaking by for a look and see what I found, great rustic and country image, the color of the barn came out light and old perfect, with the golden grass and bare trees gives it that lonesome look, where the snow?? It would look great with snow to thanks for sharing this with us.
