soulthirsty, congratulation on the birth of this wonderful child. He is absolutely adorable, and you have created an image of him which I am sure will be treasured for lifetimes. It is most unfortunate that it is seriously out of focus, however, and I think the composition could be improved with some cropping on the viewer's right to get rid of those dark corners. Nevertheless, this is a fine effort.

thanks papa...I actually just found this site and didn't really do anything to improve the photo other than make it black and white. Thanks for the info I will have to try doing that. I love your work so getting a 3 from you for a picture that very very little work went into is a compliment.

This photo came out great with the grayscale and it captures the moment so much more. Some people make think it is slightly out of focus but I think you might be trying to soften up the look a little to make it feel warmer which I did pick up. Shows the innocence of new life. Overall this is an excellent photo!!

thanks shoelace...because it was taken minutes after he was born I wasn't actually thinking too technically, lol. As for the black and white it just looked better because the baby was so red as new babies are.
